Guys Hospital 6 - 26 Swanley Men

Dominant. Ruthless. Decisive.

Due to technical difficulties, half the squad turned up at a different rugby club, meaning the warm-up wasn't the best. But the Swans weren't phased. They had a game plan and set to task.

The men in green and white got on the board early with bullying runs from the midfield and the pack delivering set piece perfection.

This set the tone for the game, strong carries, and huge hits.

Guys threatened the try line a few times with their spritely pace and footwork, but the determination and power of the Swans stopped them from crossing the whitewash.

The relentless battering of Guys smaller team started to become evident, with injuries mounting up.

Early in the 2nd half Guys were forced down to 14 because of injury and being the top geezers they are, the Swans agreed to match numbers.

A few phases later and a bundle over the try line for the Swans 4th score, the mound emerged with 2 more Guys players looking worse for wear.

With a heavy heart, the Guys captain asked to call the match. We know this decision wouldn't have been taken lightly. Our last 2 meetings showed the integrity and intensity of the Guys standard of rugby, and we look forward to their return visit back to full strength.

No MOTM or DOTD this week as the whole team played great interlinking rugby.

Honourable mention to

Harrison Hill and Jake Moore Debutants. Finally, making it on the pitch after training with the squad since last season.

Harry Botten, Finn Johnson, and Liam Connelly for the huge defensive set as the back 3.

Kai Husher for stepping up and playing 13.

The men return next week to take on Old Alleynians 3s.
